Boys 2nd / Girls 3rd at MSAC Cross Country Jamboree #1

The Carson City - Crystal Eagle Cross Country teams competed at the first MSAC jamboree at Montabella High School on Wednesday, September 20th.

The girls finished in 3rd place with 74 points. 2x defending State Champion Mount Pleasant Sacred Heart won the meet with 17 points. Leading the way for the Lady Eagles was Allyson Stevens (10th,22:26), followed by Molly Dailey (12th, 23:18),Aoife O'Grady": (17th, 24:03), Christina Schafer(18th, 24:23), and rounding out the scoring was Ariana Dockham (21st, 25:22).

The boys finished in 2nd place with 53 points. Defending Regional Champion Mount Pleasant Sacred Heart won the meet with 27 points. Leading the way for the Eagles was Coleman Clark (1st overall, 17:52), followed by Jamison Ward (5th, 18:24), Jake Hanes (12th, 19:36), Jared Shepler (15th, 20:06), and rounding out the scoring was Justin Niemi (20th, 20:50).

"I thought we competed very well in the heat today. Boys were very close to the number one ranked team in Division 4, and the girls were right where we thought we would be with the #1 and #3 ranked teams in the state in the race. We were without one guy runner today and are still in very good position to win the MSAC and be top 3 in our Regional. When the temperatures stabilize, we will see some faster times, but they competed very well today."

Our next meet is the Don Baese Invitational on Saturday September 30th.
