Coleman Clark sets fastest time for CC-C Freshman @ 2017 G.L.I.

Saturday, the Eagle Cross Country teams competed at the Greater Lansing XC Invitational at Ledge Meadows Golf Course in Grand Ledge.

The girls finished in 25th place of 36 teams (4th of Division 4 schools) 758 points. Lansing Catholic Central won the meet with 75 points. Leading the way for the Lady Eagles was Allyson Stevens (101st, 21:55), followed by Molly Dailey (110th, 22:08 ),Ariana Dockham (160th, 23:34), Christina Schafer(175th, 24:12), and rounding out the scoring was Helena DeArgila (231st, 27:59).

The boys finished in 27th place of 38 teams (2nd Division 4 team) with 615 points. Lansing Catholic Central won the meet with 83 points. Leading the way for the Eagles was Coleman Clark (23rd, 16:39), followed by Jamison Ward (85th, 17:42), Calvin Clark (147th, 18:34), Chase Wadle (175th, 19:06), and rounding out the scoring was Jake Hanes (193rd, 19:31).

"Today was tough conditions for everyone. That being said, both teams ran very well. The girls competed very well and were close to their season PR's in wet, rainy conditions. The boys had 4 PR's out of 7 runners. Coleman Clark became the fastest freshman in CC-C history with his time today and placed 23rd with a 20 second PR, his twin brother Calvin had a 32 second PR and the other freshman Jared Shepler had a 15 second PR, all in a downpour against much bigger schools. Our last 2 meets leading up to Regionals are on great courses, so we are rounding into shape at the right time. "

Our next meet is the 3rd and final MSAC meet hosted by Breckenridge on Wednesday October 18th, followed by the Alma College Scottie Classic at Ithaca High School on Friday, October 20th.
